Antique 19th C Pakistan Swat Valley Handmade Wooden Carved Sandal Nuristan Afghanistan Shoes 

Pair of wooden shoes; each shoe carved from a single pice of wood; uppermost surface decorated with incised designs; hole through end of uppermost surface threaded with a loop of cotton string, knotted beneath, to pass between two biggest toes and around the heel (?) to secure the foot.
