The body of the bird acts as a reservoir for oil while the spout at the bottom is the location for the lamp wick.

Handcrafted using the "Lost Wax" process of metal casting as per traditional century old practises by skilled Asian artisans.

Always an integral part of the prayer room, the presence of these lamps was an important aspect of ritual worship offered to a deity.
