Rare carved Ghazni islamic Alabaster stone persan oil lamp in marble Afghanistan No:9

RARE CARVED STONE OIL LAMP FROM GAZNI- AFGHANISTAN.

This is an oil lamp in a typical shape, but of exceptional size and material. The entire body is cut from a piece of alabaster and decorated with tendrils divided in cartouches on the outside. At the upper edge and the foot, there are circulating friezes with geometrical patterns.

The lamp shows usual wear marks, and is slightly chipped, particularly at the edges.
Dimensions: height 7,5 cm width 21 cm and depth 13 cm.
Weight 800 grams
